Members of the Cancer Institute do research and practice in multiple locations.
Cancer Research, UMMC Main Campus
Scientists do much of their cancer-related laboratory research on the sixth and seventh floors of the brand new Guyton Research Building. Many others also conduct research in biochemistry, pharmacology, anatomy, microbiology/immunology, pathology and radiology labs across the UMMC campus.
Jackson Medical Mall
The UMMC Cancer Institute at Jackson Medical Mall is home to clinics where doctors see patients, a Breast Imaging Center, an oncology suite where patients receive chemotherapy and other cancer-fighting drugs, a radiation oncology suite where doctors provide radiation therapy and a radiology suite with UMMC's PET/CT scanner, one of only a few in the world.
The Medical Mall also is home to the ACT Center for Tobacco, Treatment, Education and Research, offices that are part of the Otolaryngology's Department's Division of Oral Oncology and Biobehavioral Medicine as well University Hospitals and Clinics Ambulatory Services.
Batson's Children's Hospital
Children's Cancer Clinic is on the ground floor of the state's only hospital for children.
